i like the idea of injectable b-12 but i dont like the idea of injecting it. I pin ED twice per day (once sub Q and once IM so i've had enough of needles and shit).

sublingual maybe?

anyway I've been doing some research on nutrition and how it applies to different culture and body types/genetic programming respectively.

I read some stuff from Charles Poliquin, and Dave Polumbo and his trainee and recent IFBB pro Evan Centopani-smart guy.

Anway I come from a long line of eastern europeans who's diet was mostly moderate-high protein and high fat, low carb. I KNOW i feel GREAT on a high fat diet however i tried the anabolic diet in the past and it was not quite ketosis and not quite glucose burning which is ideal on paper but didnt really work in real life...

I am currently eating 33/33/33 to bulk instead of eating freaking low fat <75g and 600+g protein and carbs-- man ill tell you i FELT LIKE SHIT eating that. I HATED FOOD, couldnt stomach it, felt bloated, was gaining a little fat but not much (gear helps prevent fat loss in calorie surpless especially with clean foods) but I was torturing my colon (using the bathroom 3-5 times per day)- yea not too healthy.

Look at Jay Cutler. his family comes from a long line of americans who are probably more adapted to starchy, processed or even wheat/grain carbs than would be someone like myself. The high carbs and high protein did nothign for me except contribute to feeling like hell, little appetite due to all the protein, acid reflux, bloating, fatigue, going #2 often etc.

most likely my body WAS glucose burning but also trying to break down all the excess protein into glucose which is not efficient hence why i felt like crap.

Evan is Italian, and fares better with a 33/33/33 diet than anything else. Just goes to show how interesting nutrition and genetics are. Once the sweet spot is found our bodies will cooperate with our wishes a little better i think. Its all just trial and error now, even for me still. Gear or no gear its all nutrition.

For sure. Ive talked to Poliquin before great guy IMO. He's "real" i guess you could say. Doesn't BS and says whats on his mind.

I am mostly German in heritage. My dad is full 100% my mom is a mix of some different things. You have any links to that stuff about eating via your heritage?

I honestly dont think inj b12 is even worth the hassle. I think even wiki says in this day and age the huge amount of b vitamins they throw in oral supps will easily cover you. Also I've never noticed any benefit from inj b12 over oral.

Really how much were you doing? I dont notice the increase in appetite as much from the sublingual as much as I do from the inject. I mean I dont become an eating machine but it makes getting the last few meals of the day a little easier.

I think at one point 4ml's/week. The only thing I liked about it was having a 1/2 ml in my bi. That was cool, but the benefits not so much.

btw, Pudz what does your training split look like?

Pudz, if im not mistaken

Chest/Bi
Legs/Abs
Cardio/rest
Back/Calves
Shoulders/Tricep
Rest/Cardio

He gave me this routine, I <3 it.

"Results from the present studies indicate that some dietary supplemented B-vitamins are extensively destroyed or used before the small intestine. Postruminal infusions proved that most of this disappearance was occurring in the rumen, except for niacin and folic acid. A considerable proportion of folates seemed to be absorbed in the proximal duodenum before the cannula, whereas it appears that niacin was converted to other forms or apparently absorbed through the walls of the gastrointestinal tract. Although net values of ruminal use and intestinal absorption of B-vitamins could not be obtained from the present studies, supplementation clearly lead to an increased supply of vitamins at the duodenal level and to greater amounts apparently disappearing from the small intestine, except for riboflavin and niacin. The results obtained in the present experiment are essential for further studies looking at the effects of B-vitamin supplementation on production or metabolic parameters in dairy cows."

whoops this is for cows. LOL

but I've read somewhere ur body destroys 90% of the b-vitamins.

The human body can optimally only take up 8(weird symbol here) from an oral dose. A big problem is insignificant B12 uptake that can be caused by a number of factors. For example9,5:

* Great intake of animal products and refined sugars may more than double B12 needs.
* Drugs (e.g. Losec), alcohol, caffeine, laxatives, ect destroys or removes B12.
* Egg albumin and egg yolk decrease dietary uptake.
* Heavy metals present in food decrease dietary uptake.
* Lack of calcium in food may decrease uptake.
* Washing cooking and light exposure of the food destroys B12.

Another side to the equation is that low serum B12 levels do not equate to a B12 deficiency necessarily. Just because there is a low level of B12 in the bloodstream, this does not mean that there is a deficiency in the body as a whole, it may well be being utilised by the living cells (such as the central nervous system). In any case, a person who takes supplements may well have 'vitamin B12' floating in their bloodstream, but this does not mean it is usable to the human body as synthetic, inorganic vitamins are not.

ill continue to add as I research

You must remember as well that the bodies ability to absorb b vitamins decreases as we age. So for example for someone in their mid 20's this likely will not be as effective as a 50+ year old male.

Straight from wiki:

Quote:
Vitamin B-12 can be supplemented in healthy subjects also by liquid, strip, nasal spray, or injection and is available singly or in combination with other supplements.

The sublingual route, in which B-12 is presumably or supposedly absorbed more directly under the tongue, has not proven to be necessary or helpful. A 2003 study found no significant difference in absorption for serum levels from oral vs. sublingual delivery of 500 micrograms of cobalamin.[30]

Injection is sometimes used in cases where digestive absorption is impaired, but there is some evidence that this course of action may not be necessary with modern high potency oral supplements (such as 500 to 1000 mcg or more). Even pernicious anemia can be treated entirely by the oral route. [31][32][33] These supplements carry such large doses of the vitamin that the many different components of the B-12 absorption system are not required, and enough of the vitamin (only a few mcg a day) is obtained simply by mass-action transport across the gut.
