Finasteride re-grows hair in some users. It causes thicking of the existing hair in others. I certianly stops recession in a very high percentage of the users.

SD is Methyl Drostanolone and is a DHT-based steroid. From my reading, it is actually not very androgenic. Most asseys place it 40% as androgenic as Test. For comparison, Winstrol asseys place it at 33% as androgenic as Test. So, yes, since it is a DHT-based AAS, it is not reduced by the 5-alpha reductase enzyme and therefore its androgenic properties are unaffected.

As for Desoxymethyltestosterone (DMT), one study I have seen reports that DMT is about 60% as androgenic as test. In this case, I do not have a specific estimate as to the effects of 5-alpha reduction on DMT. However, if 5-alpha reduction is block by using finasteride while on a cycle of DMT and DMT is only 60% as androgenic as test to begin with, my educated guess would be that the inhibition would only further reduce the potential androgenic properties of DMT.

I love DMT but I'm prone to hairloss.Does it convert to a 5a-reduced product for sure or is your educated speculation? I've a lot of fine but I've never found anything in the literature about its interaction with 5a-reductase.

DMT is modified testostrone. 5 alpha reductase inhibitors works for all testostrone-based AAS by inhibiting site specific binding in the scalp. The "educated guess" part is that I am not sure how much less of an androgenic effect a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor would contribute to DMT in terms of an exact precentage of inhibition with the scalp tissue. With DHT, the inhibition is between 70% - 90% depending on which study is cited. With DMT, I've not seen an actual study that quantified the percentage but SINCE DMT is already less androgenic than test, I would guess that the totality of inhibition would be even higher.
