Default Pre, during, and post PH Cycle.

Sup doc, I have been reading alot of threads and I read of people doing some bloodwork pre and post ph cycle and I would like to do the same. But, my PA sucks; some time ago I asked him if I he would run a free test lab work and denied to do so.

My question is how or what type of advice can you guys give me to persuade my Doctor to do a pre PH cycle blood work, post PH cycle and a post PCT cycle?

The doc will give you his opinion but i'd like to share mine:

You're not likely to persuade this doc, regardless of what you say. If you want him to perform testing of that nature then he should do it, at your request, regardless of whether or not he feels it necessary. You are the patient and if you want to know your free test than dammit you have a right to know. You have to keep in mind that YOU pay HIM. If he wants to play that game then find ANOTHER doctor that will.. there are probably a thousand well-qualified doctors within a 5-10 mile radius of your house, find one.

Now if you want your insurance to cover it, that's a different story.

Depending on your circumstances, another option is to pay for it yourself. For about $50 you can request labwork online. The lab is requested online, they will work with a local clinic to draw blood and send it off. After a few weeks, you will get your results. I havent tried it, but found out about it through the "other" board. See Lab Safe

Just to let you know... I recently had a full bloodwork done, including free/total test and the total cost came back at about $500 dollars. My insurance covered all of it but $14.

Maybe...
Find a better doctor (through references)
Mention loss of libido, lethargy, etc (you should be able to get initial test then followup)
Go online and drop some "coin"

Is this initial consult with this physician or have you spoke with him/her before?

At this stage, you could likely go back to your PA, et al and even suggest that despite his/her recommendation you had opted to use the "supplement" and as a result experienced side effects of decreased libido, lethargy, irritability, and the potential of pain about your breast (unilateral or bilateral).

This may not only encourage this person to get the lab work, but also give them an "out" (sorry, not all physicians, allied health professionals will understand your pursuit, but you can ask them if a smoker came in, if you'd treat them hypothetically; or if a heroin addict came in would they treat that person; imagine their surprise to such a suggestion) in the sense of getting your blood draws paid for or true insurance coverage. Now - out-of-pocket blood draws should always be granted by physicians, et al, so I would be surprised if that wouldn't work, but I am somehow assuming you are trying to get around over $400 (minimum) of lab costs.

It is actual neglegence to a degree on their behalf not going through minimal blood work with you (should you come in with any such complaints); especially should something of the endocrinologic persuasion truly be off. In this regard, I don't think this is really their best option.

Certainly as was suggested above, you could seek second opinion in any event where you don't feel you are getting the best care you deserve. However, that is truly up to you.
