Default Getting started

I was told this site was the place to be.

Let me start by saying I'm verging on desperation. I'm 26, and I've blimped up to about 260 lbs and work at a stress-filled desk and I'm serious about making changes in order to gain some sort of self esteem. I'm willing to work hard. I just don't know where to start. I'm looking to trim down considerably while adding a little bit of bulk as well.

Lately I have been taking whey protein (54g per day) and Creatine while bench pressing (7 reps x 5 sets) and doing arm curls (40 lbs, 10 reps x 5 sets) with a barbell three times a week. I have done this for about a month now.

My cardio has been shaky because I have chronic knee problems that don't allow me to do a lot of high-intensity running. I haven't done any squats because I'm afraid of my knees giving out.

What do you suggest as a starting point for a cardio plan and a diet?

I really appreciate any advice you could give me, and thank you in advance.

fast paced push ups and sit ups will work till you build a good base and lose some bf. pay very close attention to your diet. whats it looking like now?
