I have decided to begin taking the activate xtreme as a natural test booster, assuming that the problem is indeed an off T:E ratio. It seems the easiest approach at this time. If there are any other methods that would help correct the ratio without having too many possible side effects if a incorrect T:E ratio is not the case I would be very eager to know. If the hair loss does continue at the same rate after I'm finished with the natural test booster, I will get blood work done. I might be overly optimistic or imagining things, but it would appear that over the past few days the rate of hair loss as decreased, nevertheless I'll keep a close eye on it still. Thankfully, I have thick hair and no noticeable loss can be seen. Again, if there are any other methods that might correct the ratio assuming this is the case please let me know, thank you for your time.

I would like one final input from the doctor, whenever you have time. As of now there are essentially only 2 possibilities leading to my hair loss that I see.

1) Off T:E ratio

Treatment: As I stated before I feel the easiest thing to do here would be to run activate xtreme as a natural test booster in hopes to correct any low levels of test. However, I have not suffered any strength loss or any other side effects that would come from elevated E levels compared to T. Nevertheless, if this is the case and I do correct it my hair loss should stop correct? Also I would like some alternative methods to treat an off ratio if at all possible.

2) Elevated levels of DHT

If this is the case, and assuming the natural test booster works, I should notice an increase in hair loss correct? Therefore, my taking a natural test booster is essentially testing which situation I am in. If my logic is incorrect please feel free to correct me.

Conclusion:

I will wait about 4 more weeks before I seek a doctor to get blood work done, and if and when that happens I'll let you know what the results are and would greatly appreciate anymore guidance you have to offer.

I can speak from my own trial of AcitvaTe Xtreme in the past as it does what it says it does (inc T, dec E) if my results are indicative of anything. That said, theoretically, running it MAY turn things around; however, there are many things that may dictate full correction of a T:E ratio.

Not necessarily on the second one either...you could have all the DHT in the world and without receptors, it matters not.

Personally, I think you'd get further checking your hormone levels now and getting a physician who would be willing to think outside the box and prescribe an AI and monitor accordingly. But, ultimately....yes seeing a physician is a must.

thanks doc for your help, I know that DHT related hair loss is only possible if there is a presence of receptors in the scalp; my grandfather on my mothers side, which is where most people hypothesize is the source of inheritance, went bald before he graduated high school, so there is the possibility that I do have the receptors to some extent, my father's side of the family has does not carry the show the baldness gene.

Doc, as it turns out due to some health care complications I will not be able to get blood work done until at least January 2010. Can you please let me know if there are any long term effects that I should be concerned about if I have a slightly off T:E ratio? Also, you mentioned the use of an AI, would something OTC like inhibit-e be worth a try? Also would re-running a PCT be worthwhile? As an update, the use of Activate Extreme at 6 caps a day seems to have dropped the hair loss roughly 50%, I was typically getting 20 hairs just running my hands through my hair when they were wet, but now I usually get between 10-13.
