Default Bulking... What Program is the "best"?

3x6 ummmmm no actually 4x8 hmmmm no no wait 5x5 with heavy weight, I have heard most of them, what program is the best for weight gain with the proper diet? I'm talking everything including muscle groups. I have also heard one day on (killing yourselft) then one day off for gaining mass. I have also heard it is better to combine back with biceps, chest with triceps, etc... what is a preferred program that has a high success rate for gaining mass.


FOLLOWING QUESTIONS PERTAIN TO GAINING WEIGHT
What is the most weight you have gained and what was your program? (Anyone)
Is it really bad to be in the gym longer than 1 hour?
Is it true that I should not do more than 4 workouts per muscle group when I am working out 2 muscle groups?
What are the best muscle groups to combine?
How long should I wait between each set for the best results?
Should I take protein while working out and then again after workout or is directly after workout fine?
Do I really need to take days off if I am on a proper diet?

There is more where those came from but lets not get ridiculous lol.

What is the most weight you have gained and what was your program? Weight gain is going to be more closely related to the setup of your diet as far as weight gain goes. Most people seem to hit more of the strength aspect when gaining weight and are usually within the 5-8 rep range.

Is it really bad to be in the gym longer than 1 hour? Yes and no. It really depends again on your diet and how close to your workout you consumed your last meal. The next part would be focused on what is actually getting done in this 1+hr workout. In general, I wouldn't be in the gym longer than 1-1.25 hrs. I actually am in the gym between 45-55min
Is it true that I should not do more than 4 workouts per muscle group when I am working out 2 muscle groups? I am going to assume you meant exercises instead of workouts. This part depends on the number of sets performed in each exercise, and this is regardless of the number of body parts you are doing in the workout.
What are the best muscle groups to combine? Synergistic (agonist/antagonist) muscle pairings seem to work best.
How long should I wait between each set for the best results? Best results for? weight loss? strength? general fitness?
Should I take protein while working out and then again after workout or is directly after workout fine? Depends on diet and meal timing, but generally after a workout seems to be better.
Do I really need to take days off if I am on a proper diet? A day or two off per week is generally advised, but it would also depend on what type of workout you are incorporating and for how long.

Best lean mass gains ive made is when I gain about 1 pound per week, for me, anymore than that seemed to be a good bit of fat

Is it really bad to be in the gym longer than 1 hour?
Depends on lots of factors, your training status, if you are drinking a intra workout product, etc.

Is it true that I should not do more than 4 workouts per muscle group when I am working out 2 muscle groups?
Like b-nat I guess by 'workouts' you mean exercises, a good workout scheme has atleast 3 exercises per bodypart, many go above that though in terms of making a more advanced workout routine

What are the best muscle groups to combine?
A good way to setup a routine is 'push / pull' exercises, like bench (chest), then bent over rows (back), or quads then hamstrings, etc.

How long should I wait between each set for the best results?
you mean rest periods? 30s - 1.5 minutes is recommended for muscle hypertrophy

Should I take protein while working out and then again after workout or is directly after workout fine?
no don't take regular whey protein while working out, take it post workout, if desired, a intra workout product like intrabolic would be good.

Do I really need to take days off if I am on a proper diet?
yes, off / rest days are extremely important.

Thank you for your good advice. My goal is really simple actually, I just want to weigh 200lbs I'm at 184 rite now and I'm 6'4". My friends tell me I am "cut" but I want to be "Jacked", 200 is a good goal and it is possible so thanks again.
