one over one under the the way to do it for just about everyone. chalk will help, give it a try. i would not use the straps you will get used to it. plus it will pull on elbows and shoulders because you are lifting weight you cannot support pulling on your wrist. let me know how it goes. 400 is a strong lift congrats!

things weren't much of an issue when the weight was lower but now that i'm reachin 400lbs the grip just won't stay clinched. i was already thinkin chalk so i'll give that a try but mainly its when i try to get that tight squeeze at the top of a DL rep that my grip starts to slip. i'm usin a one over one under grip but i just don't want to feel like i'm cheatin myself by wrappin my wrists to the bar.

i never have used them for DL. you really shouldn't have to since you should re-set each rep. get some chalk, that will help a lot. you just need a little, does not have to look like a big cloud of smoke. i use them when shrugs get heavy on a straight bar. I see no real problem with it since it is overhand grip and you are repping them. I have never had grip issues while deadlifting. how are you holding the bar? make sure you are not holding it in your fingers. grip where calluses are and cinch it up.

i just got a quick question for ya. in your opinion would i be better off losing the wrist wraps and dropin the weight if i can't hold on during say DL and shrugs and such.
