Ive heard Dave Palumbo and others say that people don't grow well on fish. I can't remember exactly why. He said its good when you are dieting and trying to lose fat but other meats are a lot better if you want to grow.

Thanks a lot for all the info guys! Very helpful, I didn't know that fish contain a lot of mercury.

I just heard from my dermatologist, that most chickens are usually injected with certain hormones to fatten them up (probably estrogen), which she suspect might cause some of my skin problem, she recommends to switch my protein source to fish and meat.

Any thoughts about that?

Maybe because of it's anti-inflammatory properties...but Charles Poliquin swears by fish oil in any body building endeavor.

She could have suggested buying chicken that is raised on organic farms free of hormones. They can be found at most stores. The taste is worth the small increase in price.

I have an estradiol shaker on my table, next to the salt and pepper.

Skin problems are usually related to diet but I never thought of chicken as a possible culprit...?

Im pretty much bulking on a fish diet. I'd say a good 80% of my protein comes from fish.

I think the mercury poisoning theory is just paranoia. Millions of people across the world have fish and rice as the bulk of their diets, and they typically live long lives.
