I dont know about this bro but when i have little time between meal andworkout I try to eat a decent amount of carb and a protein shake. The carbs for quick energy. I have noticed when i did not do this, i was pretty worthless in the gym. Quick carbs usually consised of pasta without sauce... just enough to get me through my workout. Then at good after workout. Not sure if this is the "proper" way to do it but it did work for me.
