Why not use carbs on the weekends or on a rotation of 3lo-1hi cycle, or depending on how your routine is setup, I think it could be altered. I think on a carb reduction diet, MOST strategies will work, and throwing in the KD part is only "pretty" because you or most won't truly establish any real form of a ketotic state, possibly mild ketosis at best.

I would shoot for <100 on the lo days, and around 2x bw on hi carb days...
As you progress your carbs will be reduced on both the hi and lo days, and you should see a decent weight loss...

I've been toying with carb numbers to see what would be better as a starting point and lowering from there. What workout routine are you going to follow? I think a 3on1/off workout would be perfect with a 3lo/1hi setup... I'd be sure to put legs on the day immediately following the hi carb day....

Good point. Have you confirmed this on yourself with the use of ketostix or any other testing like that?

I am unsure at this point. Any suggestions? I rarely cut...

Day 1: Low carb/Legs
Day 2: Low carb/Upper body push
Day 3: Low carb/Upper body pull

hmm he could mean that. I guess too I think mostly of leaving the fats + proteins the same all 4 days, and only manipulating carbs (so thats why i'd want the off day to be a low day, as its lower caloric burn) but if you also lowered fats and/or proteins that day so that it was a lower calorie day even tho a high carb day I guess it would work. I wouldn't want a caloric surplus day to be a high carb day. then again i'm just paranoid :D

I wouldn't carb up on an off day, and use the High Carb at the beginning of the week and on a heavy day, so the best choice would be legs.

And I concur with the 'KD' part, because you won't be able to reach a state of ketosis with that many carbs.

I basically have 6-7 weeks to get as lean as possible. I think my plan will be something similar to the above and then if I am not happy with my progress before the last 2 weeks I may eliminate all carbs.
