I followed a strict "Anabolic Diet" for about six months but found that by having more carbs (low glycemic carbs) with my first three meals of the day, I not only felt better but my body responded better to it. I continue to lose fat even though I eat all kinds of fatty meats all day long.
I splurge and eat a couple of rolls from Texas RoadHouse or Golden Corral on Tuesdays. Tuesday and Friday are my "carb friendly" days. Friday night when I play poker, we have Dominos pizza.
I do not eat nor do I crave candy anymore. For my "sweet tooth", I eat raisins and prunes or just have some fruit, but never in the later part of my day.
I run calories about 45/40/15 to 45/35/20 (fat/pro/carb) with Tues/Fri more like 30/30/40 or 30/20/50. My fat/pro percentage changes depending on the type of meat that I get so a 40/45 and even a 35/45 can happen using a daily bases. I seem to average out weekly to the first ratios. I find it easier to adjust my food intake using weekly averages than daily.
I am finding that on-cycle, bumping the carbs up to equal or better than my protein level works best, but I overeat while on, so my total calories per day are way up also. I have never done a "cutting cycle".
