this is true also, it can get pricey. When i find a good deal chicken or beef, i always stock up.

Agreed, I prefer to get all my intake from food. Plus most of the time, protein shakes can throw you off because they can suppress appetite. So hitting your meals every 2-3 hours can sometimes be harder.

it all depends on time as some cannot sit and eat or nibble but they can chug, so unless they blend up whole foods it works better to use shakes. if pp have the time to eat or sit for a min, id hope they opt for whole foods

Wouldn't a whey protein shake digest quicker than real food?? If so, wouldn't a shake be a better option in the morning considering you haven't consumed protein for the past 8 or however many hours you sleep for?

I drink a shake first thing in the morning, not because I think its better, but b/c I wake up @ 5am for work and I'm too F'n tired to make breakfast. I do however eat 5 eggs and a banana by 8am.

quick digestion is only needed when ur body is starvin for it like immediately after workout. otherwise an overloaded intake is just simply pissed out by the body. which is why most guys need to visit the can 5 times the next hour after drinkin the shakes. i'm not an expert by any means but any time i can find a way to eat solid foods i'm gtg.

its not excreted like that, its absorbed well, excess creatine is generally excreted though. optimal feeding times are when your body is starving for nutrients as you stated and i would include upon waking as one of those times. generally i just make breakfast and eat that, otherwise i am eating too frequently if i drink a shake then have a meal then head to work.

oh and whey does digest rather quickly and isolate even quicker

like i said not an expert but i thought since the body doesn't store protein (unless its converting it to fat) that the excess aminos were flushed through the kidneys via water? am i wrong about that?

depends on your body and what stores it needs to fill.
ppl hav multiple outcomes based on their diet and training. i.e. if you have a carb laden diet, high protein diet, or high fat diet, they all change the outcome and what can/will occur

for many of us that are on the run shakes are just easier and sometimes more palatable than whole foods, not to mention its easier to get down when you dont have a huge apetitie,

Shakes are not superior in quality stnad point to whole foods, but convenience and often price shakes are a better bet
