Default Eating at Night; Causing Morning Problems

EDIT: I eat right before bed not during actual sleep.... my fault

I like to eat at night, before bed, in order to keep my body fueled while sleeping as well as keeping up a high amount of calories. However, the mornings after are pretty bad. Within the first hour or two, I usually have to go to the bathroom 3-5 times.

It sucks. Should I cut out the late night eating and have more calories during the day?

Will not eating for the 8 hours during sleep, even though I eat around 5000 calories a day, put my body into a catabolic state?

Would digestive enzymes, taken at night, help?

Uninterrupted sleep is better for gaining muscle than waking up to get a meal in. Besides, your digestive system needs a break too. Try to get the calories in during your waking hours.

just make sure to get a bed time meal/shake in that contains casein and some fat to slow the absorption. if you are looking for a digestive enzyme, i know NOW has some and our new MFV contains them if you are in the market for a multi vitamin, and it's on sale right now if you haven't heard

I wouldn't wake up during sleep just to eat, but if you do happen to wake up, just have a shaker pre-mixed and drink about 20g's of whey IF you wake up, just have it by the bed.

what do you eat during this meal by the way..?

Opps, I misconstrued what I meant to say;
I don't wake up during sleep but I do eat right before going to bed. Usually I have a peanut butter with apple butter sandwich on wheat with plain oatmeal in the middle. Then possibly some other random vegetables and cereal without milk. (Either cheerios or kashi go-lean)

Also, I am lactose intolerant but I try my best to avoid most dairy products.

also some people can develop heart burn after they eat before bed, i know personally i cant have anything spicy before bed, but i can not sleep on an empty stomach, play around with it and see how it goes, but definately try a shake with almond butter, much better off for ya
