Default Question about Prohormones

Hi -
My son is a 18.5 year old high level ice hockey player who needs to put on 10 pounds fast. He wants to take prohormones. Is the dangerouse? Can one or two cycles cause damage? If he stops after that will he lose his muscle gain. I researched alot about them and they sound as bad as steriods but I am not really sure. Any suggestions would be helpful. Colleen

though your son may be upset with the answer prohormones are simply not safe for that age. he has enough testosterone in his body to make fine gains. i suggest a nice creatine product and/or Nitric Oxide product. As far as damage, it may happen, it might not, the point is, why risk your sons health?

21+ is the age for prohormones. It is suggested to wait till mid 20's. NO XPLODE, Superpump 250, Nano Vapor are all good suggestions and if he works out properly with a good diet can gain the weight.

Negative on the pro-hormones his body is producing more than enough test at this time.
Most the gains he would make now should be very good w/o anything if he trains hard.

Definitely don't introduce him to prohormones. The pre-ban stuff is a lot safer than the designer steroids out nowadays.

Have you had his hormone levels checked? What is his body composition, specifically height, weight, bodyfat %? Does he perform any weight training today to accompany his sport-specific training? How is his diet, specifically his protein, carbs and fat intake? What are the primary sources of those macronutrients?

At that age he should be playing at a college level right? Does the program have a trainer? In D1 football programs many trainers institute programs to put weight on their athletes.

Prohormones = steroids.
They are not dangerous per say, but I wouldnt ever recommend hormone manipulation for anyone who hasn't finished puberty (which ends at roughly 21-24 years old) I typically tell people to wait until the random acne stops after their 22nd birthday and then they can start thinking about using androgens.

I would have your son stay away from them. He is way too young, just get some good creatine products w/ whey and good weight gainer .. and have him hit the gym .. he should put on weight easily since his testrone levels are most likely very high.

prohormone's are just as bad as steroids .. there can be very bad sides, if you don't treat them right.

Your son's body has not finished developing. If he starts tweaking his hormones before his body has finished its hormonal development he could end up with a number of endocrine system problems. If he wants to gain weight his best bet is to get on to a solid lifting regiment that focuses on the heavy compound movements, a clean but high calorie diet, at least 8 hours of sleep each night, and no partying. I am not saying your son parties... but I remember what my friends and I where doing when I was his age.
