half life vs total time active, confused

Every time someones talking about half life they seem to say something along these lines

"In medicine, the term half-life refers to the duration it takes for half of a given drug dosage to break down in the body. It is not half of the total activity time, as this figure always refers to the time it takes to metabolize 50% of what is in still the body. For example, if we inject 100mg a steroid with a half-life of 4 hours, at the four-hour mark we should have only 50mg left as active. After another four hours have passed the drug is still in the body, however another half-life has expired and the total active dosage will be around 25mg. It may take several half-lives before the drug is completely inactive."

Ok fair enough. But now I'm wondering why people say to start pct for say test enanthate 2 weeks after the last injection. Say the half life is around 7 days (varies depending who you ask) but for this example lets say 7 days. So if you took a shot of 500mg test-e every week for 8 weeks you would have approx 996mg in your system right after the last shot. So again assuming 7 day half life, 2 weeks later you would have 249mg left in you. So why the hell would you start pct, no way you could recover. Even 4 weeks after the last shot you would have 62.25. Wouldn't that even be enough to suppress ? What if you used 1000mg a week it would be twice as bad.

I must be missing something here. I think whats missing is blood levels are not the same as the numbers above since when you inject the test-e it would peak a few days after and and then drop off in a curve and not a straight line. Perhaps someone can post a link to some graphs showing blood levels vs half life ?

Great question.
I think the "release" into the body, as you pointed out, is the key issue hear.
When Test E is injected you are not getting the "full" dose in your blood stream as you would say an oral.
