Well, after a few days of consideration, I decided to send the Werksan back. I would rather wait a few days and have a shoe that fits well (as previously mentioned, these were too wide and difficult to get tight enough).
I sent them back to Werksan USA approx 4 weeks ago. I asked that they be replaced with Do-wins (per conversation with Mr. Totten the president, he felt that Do-wins were cut more narrow and would be a better fit). No response after 2 weeks. Called and told shoes would be sent out that day from Tx. Another week went by. No shoes. Called and informed that shoes were not sent, they were out of my size (no one was going to tell me?). So, I got a refund.
Went to Dynamic (
adidas Weightlifting shoes), and placed an order for some Adistar shoes (yep $200). Shipping confirmation same day. Got 4 days later.
In comparison (since I have had both pairs in my possession) the Adidas are vastly superior shoes. Their construction does not have the rugged appeal the werksans do (they are more flashy, typical of adidas), but they appear very solid. 3 Straps seems better than 2 IMO. The fit really seals the deal. It is a nice, solid, snug fit. Exactly what I was hoping for.
If I had bought a pair or werksan or do-wins that fit this well, I might have been satisfied, but in retrospection, these are the better shoe.
