Actually the only real downside I can see from marijuana is that it makes ya lazy. It increases appetite which is good for bulking and helps ya sleep. Estrogen levels elevating from marijuana use is a myth, however it will affect short term memory. Though you'd have to live on the stuff, if you're smoking regularly (and I mean all the friggin time - for multiple years) theres a risk of cancer, but the cigarettes are far more likely to be the cause of your demise.
As for alcohol, it destroys your liver. Not to mention the whole aspect of your body trying to flush out the poison you just drank so muscle building takes a back seat. It slows the metabolism, bad for cutting. Heh, it increases the need for 4th meal.. which by no means counts as a clean diet.
