Default Back pumps vs. Cramps

I've been searching for a few days concerning the cramps that I have been getting in my lower back, 4 weeks into an H-drol/formestane cycle. The cramps seem to come and go as they please. They are a nuisance and inconvenience in that I have to alter my routine to avoid "flare ups."

While searching for solutions, I see that others experience "back pumps," "kidney pumps," and abnormal cramping to other unconventional areas of the body such as calves and forearms.

Changes that I've made based on my searches are the following:
-added creatine
-added taurine
-increase water intake from 1.5 to 2 gallons per day
-increased banana intake from 1 to 2 per day
-increased stretching from 3x/week to every day (and of course between sets as the pumps/cramps require immediate attention)

1) Is there a different definition for these "types" of pumps? Or are they one in the same?

2) Are my changes sufficient or deficient?

Further ideas and or explanations are welcome.

Your changes appear to be appropriate for "back pumps." Any relief, so far?

How much taurine are you taking? I'm taking 10 grams split between two doses, one pre workout in the am and one before bed. It is helping. I'm on my second week into a mass tabs/haladrol cycle and just noticed some tightness in my lower back ecspecially during straight leg deads and on leg day, doing squats. Hopefully this will continue to help.

Sol, so far, everything is helping slightly. I have not started taurine yet but it has been ordered. Sol, you seem to come up with very informative links... got any regarding mechanism of these cramps?

Just started the creatine 2 days ago, which I am not too happy about. The recomp look is fantastic and I'll have puffy creatine chipmunk cheeks within 2 or 3 days. I have not been on mono for about 6 months and I welcome the mood enhancing effects so far as i've been quite cranky over the past week on this cycle.

Paulie, most of my research has come up with taurine dosages in the same ball park. I'll probably start out with a plan similar to what you have and then adjust as needed.

Dr Houser posted on "another" forum stating that Taurine is commonly underdosed, and dosing needs to be at least 7grams/200lb body weight.
Of course more is needed if you weigh more.

So keep that in mind when you place an order.
Unfortunately I read his post AFTER I placed my order, so I had to order more.

...errr, really?

I could have sworn he said 3g-5g. I've read other recommendations of 5g as well. Never heard of dosing taurine as high as 7grams/day.

To be honest, I have had relief with 1-3 grams daily of taurine. I've also had relief with merely using Nimbus's Poseidon. BTW, I have no clever links for "back pump" information.

Here's the link from DA (not sure if Admin will block it or not?)
