Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. What does Shredded exactly do?
Shredded is known as an aquaretic product - that is, a product meant for shedded water weight in an incredibly short time, only 72 hours. Shredded is meant primarily for competing bodybuilders, and figure competitors to be used leading up to their contest. Unlike many diuretics, Shredded is available without a prescription and is legal in almost all competing organizations*, where prescription diuretics are banned due to abuse. Simply put, Shredded helps reduce water bloat to give the absolute most cut appearance on stage, on camera, or when it really matters.
Q. Can you explain the ingredients some?
  • Basically, the first three you see listed are Magnesium Oxide (50% Magnesium), B6, and Potassium. When in water shedding stages like these, all three can be 'lost' through urinary output, so Shredded helps to replenish these levels.
  • Uva-Ursi is probably the most esoteric compound found in Shredded, however the role is actually fairly simple. Uva-Ursi acts as a diuretic, and flushes the body of water relatively quickly.
  • You find caffeine in almost every fat burner out there, however one big factor of caffeine is that it is a powerful diuretic, and also stimulates adrenaline receptors raising body temperature slightly. The diuretic effects kicks in largely through stimulation of the kidneys, which causes the body to expel more water in a given period of time.
  • Green Tea Extract acts as an antioxidant for the body, but when coupled with caffeine also acts as a thermogenic. The antioxidant property of Green Tea is an important consideration when there is heavy shift in the body composition.
  • Taraxasterols are found in dandelion root (Taraxacum Officinale), and is actually a neat compound. The general effect is that sodium chloride will increase excetion, thereby increasing water excretion, however the potassium levels in the body remain largely unaffected by this action.
  • Stinging Nettle Root Extract rounds out by providing blocking of the SHBG. SHBG is the Sex Hormone Binding Globulin, and a lignan found in stinging nettle root binds with it, increasing levels of free testosterone.

Q. Who is Shredded right for? Who is Shredded not right for?
This is an important point. Being an aquaretic, it is important to realize that Shredded will shed excess water severely - and water being vital to life, Shredded should only be used in situations necessitating aquaretics.

Shredded is perfect for:
  • Bodybuilders
  • Figure Competitors
  • Model/Photo Shoots
  • Posing Competitors

These people, and people like them, depend on having the extra punch in their performance on stage, on camera, or similar. When the difference between winning and losing can come down to just a bit of water weight, Shredded steps in to push the appearance further.

Shredded should be avoided for:
  • Simply losing some water weight to 'look good' throughout the day.
  • Going on holiday and need to cut up the look.
  • To impress a group of friends
  • Similar situations, where the appearance is not vital to performance.

These reasons, and more, are ones I have personally heard for wanting to use Shredded. Since Shredded loses water (dehydration), Shredded should only be used when necessary, when the results means performance. It is not healthy to repress water levels for extended periods of time, and when not necessay should not be practiced.
Q. Ok, Shredded may not be right for me.. what else can I do?
This is unique depending on the user, and where they are in their dieting and training stages. There is no one solution to this, but some ideas would be:
  • Increase the water intake. As strange as this sounds, drinking more water will overall cause a decrease in bloat. Don't go overboard with this, but keep water intake to 1-2 gallons per day.
  • Consider doing a cut 1-2 months before holiday. This again, depends if it is a good idea for you to be in a cutting phase, determined by current bodyfat, weight, and past few months dieting.
  • Just go on holiday and relax. Chances are, you're being to hard on yourself anyways.
Q. Why does a bottle only have 10 servings?
Simply because Shredded works within a period of 3 days. At 3 servings a day, that's only 9 servings. 3 servings per day, then 1 leading up to the competition/photo shoot/etc. is all that is needed to rid extra water weight. One bottle of Shredded is all that is needed.
What precautions should I take when using Shredded?
As with any water weight shedding, it is also possible to drive down the levels of electrolytes. Keep water intake up when using Shredded to 'flush' the system. Directly after competition/photo shoot, have an electrolyte drink on-hand to down - quite literally as you're finished. As always, use safe & sensible supplementation routines.
Q. I'm an athlete. Would losing the extra water help me in my performance?
While it would mean less water to carry in your sport (such as sprinting, cycling, etc), water intake needs to remain high for any sport athlete. Shredded's diuretic effect will work against you, as you lose the water to keep hydrated, and electrolyte balance can disrupt - impairing performance. Because of this, Shredded would not be in your best interest.
Q. What does Shredded cost?
On Home at DPS Nutrition - The Nation's leader in Discount Nutrition, Shredded will cost $13.90 per bottle

On Bodybuilding.com - The Future Of Bodybuilding! Huge Bodybuilding Site., Shredded will cost $14.99 per bottle.
Q. I have more questions, who should I talk to?
Feel free to contact one of the SAN reps, or to contact SAN directly using SAN :: First In Sports Nutrition, under the 'contact us' page.
