UFC 84 Predictions

Sherk v. Penn: Im taking Sherk in this fight for either a late round TKO or decision. Penn is good and flexible as a 10 yr old Chinese gymnast but Sherk has him beat hands down in the power and explosiveness department. He also has more than enough experience to deal with Penns BJJ.

Silva v. Jardine: There is more on the line for Silva in this fight but I think Jardine is gonna take it. Hes been looking very solid lately and Silva really isnt at home in the cage.

Ortiz v. Machida: This should be a pretty close fight. I'm gonna give it to Tito since this is his last fight under contract and I want to see him win.

There will probably be some fairly entertaining undercards on this ticket but there are too many unknowns and newcomers to make any decent predictions.

I won't see any of the fight until the replay them on UFC Wired or something. I am done with outrageous pay-per-views, especially since the UFC has a pay-per-view every weekend...

Ya the ppv fee is ridiculous. I recently found out that a sports bar up the road from me orders the fights and doesn't charge a cover so i've been going there. You can get dinner and a couple drinks for less than half the cost of ppv haha.

My picks for the big 3 fights:

1) Penn over Sherk, and I think BJ is going to destroy him
2) Silva over Jardine in what I predict will be fight of the night
3) Machida over Tito

Yeah, but then you have to watch it with some douchebag booing every time a fight goes to the ground. At least thats been my experience.

I just noticed we picked each fight differently. I could see the Silva/Jardine fight going Jardine's way even though i'm picking Wanderlei, and I wouldn't be shocked if Tito pulled out a win. I don't see BJ losing however. Sherk just doesn't finish people and I don't think he can hold BJ off for 5 rounds, better cardio or not.

Ya haha, Sherk is definitely the underdog but I think he wants it more than Penn. I think he'll try to keep it standing as much as possible but we'll see what happens. Regardless, I don't think this will be a quick fight whichever way it goes.
