Default Millenium Sports Technologies - Ragnarok Review

First - thanks to all those who suggested pre-training supplements for me to test. I promise, I'll get around to the rest of your suggestions in due time.

Second, this review is total free of bias and is not influenced in any fashion by the company that sell the product reviewed (i.e. I paid for the stuff out of my own pocket - no one gave it to me).

Finally, I am going to use as a baseline for my review, my old standby for pre-workout supplement stack - C/E/A. So, all opinions will be of a comparative nature. Now, I have used reviewed other pre-workout supplements, for more of my reviews please see:

ALRI WTF - Pump'd http://forum.xsmuscle.com/viewtopic.php?t=35

Now, on to the review of - Ragnarok!

What are my expectations? Same as always - 1) Increased focus while training, 2) enhanced pumps, 3) increase stamina while training

Start date: 7/12/07
I will run this product log for 30 days

Serving size - 1 15g scoop
Frequency - 45 minutes prior to trainning

Day 1 - Back and calves
Ok, first off, this stuff tastes better than WTF- Pump'd. Now that is a subjective statment casue this stuff ain't great on the ole taste buds but compared to WTF - Pump'd its it is yummy.

Next, the stims in this product did not kick in as quick as WTF - Pump'd but they do ramp up faster than the typical 200 mg Vivrin.

As far as enhanced pumps, for me, back is not the best body part through which to make this assessment. However, I did have a great back session. For me that is a body part that can be really hit or miss. So, I was pleased with the increased focus and energy level during the session.

Ok, well that's my first impression. Legs today, so I'll report back later.

Ok all - just a quick update from Friday's training session.

B/C of the way I train legs, the pump factor is a yardstick for the effectiveness of the this product.

I started my quad session with 3 drop sets of 30 rep leg extensions to pre-exhust the quads.

The pump was very good! The focus was outstanding. The most impressive discovery for me so far has been decrease in rest time between sets.

Typically, I'll take about 3 minutes between pre-exhust sets of 30 reps. On this leg day my rest time was down to closer to 2 minutes between sets. That also helps improve the pump.

After 3 pre-exhust sets, I did 3 sets of 12 reps with DEEP squats with 405 lbs.

I don't squat heavy anymore that is why use the pre-exhust pattern. At my age weight don't matter!

Generally, the deep squats are followed by front squats or hacks and today it was hacks. Again the pump was very good.

So far, I would say the Rag is every bit the equal of WTF but Monday's chest/bics session will be the real benchmark.

OK - an update after the chest/bis session yesterday.

Rag had its best showing by far yesterday!

Great focus and energy! Strength was very good on chest and the pump on bis was perhaps one of the best I've had in weeks.

So, I'll formulate this hypothesis - Rag seems to be most effective for volumization on smaller muscle groups than on larger ones. This is support as of now by my experiences with Rag during Back & Leg sessions vs a Chest & Bis sessions.

I'll get another opportunity to consider that hypothesis this afternoon when I train shoulders

Regards!

Ok, I've got a moment to follow up on the past couple of training sessions with Rag.

First, my initial observartion regarding enhanced volumination in smaller muscle groups still seems to hold water. Chest, shoulders, and bis have all reacted better to Rag than quads and back. Of course, this may be do to the form and function of training of the muscle groups in question.

Overall, the stims in Rag are on par with other pre-workout volumnization supplements. Rag tastes better than WTF -pump'd so that is a nice change.

Again, there is a nice even taper of the stims out of the systems. You won't experience the "crash" associated with 200 mg of vivrin and 25 mg of ephedra.

So, that wraps you an entire weeks training sessions on Rag.

I will continue to run this as my pre-workout supplement for the next 30-45 days and report back on a quasi-long term perspective.

So my summary to date is as follows...

Pros - 1) even tapering of stims out avoids crash, 2) the stims kick in pretty quick (20-25 minutes) and 3) provide a sustained state of mood elevation for at least 2 hours during an intense training session (I've yet to feel like I am dragging ass through a back or legs session on this stuff). 4) Taste is better than other products in the segment. 5) Cost - I got two tubs of Rag on sale (about $20 per tub) and their are 40 servings per tub. Training 4 times a week, that translates to 10 weeks of supplements per tub. So, $20 bucks for 2 and a half months ain't bad!

Cons - I have used other products that seemed to provide a little stronger effect in the pump department.

Overall - I would say that Rag is worth a try especially if you are like me an follow a CKD and need a "carbless" option pre-workout. Based on price alone, it will be a more attractive option to many customers when compared to WTF- Pump'd.

I know this is your review Dr. C, but just to throw in my 2 cents on this; I've been on the Rag for a little over a week now (have fun with that sentence RA! ) and I'm definitely liking it... I too went for the special... the taste isn't anything to write home about, but I don't think any of these pre-workout drinks taste great... and that's not what I'm taking them for... (heck, it's a million times better then GREENS+ )

I was already taking Ephedra + guarana + T2 + RedAcid2 in the AM, 30 minutes before my workout, and after adding some Rag in at the same time I've definitely noticed increased clean energy, positive mental attitude, endurance, strength, pump and focus!

As for dosage, I'm a little addicted to it, so I'm going for 3 scoops on Chest, Leg and Arms day, and 2 scoops on Back and Shoulders days... I know all that Arganine is supposed to blunt GH and all, so I hope they come out with an Arganine-free version; however, I'm still in love with the performance enhancement and mental-alertness effects... can't beat this for the price, I'll likely pick up some more as soon as I can carve it into my budget.

You got the old flavor, correct? The ones we offered for $20 off of our website? The new flavors (Blue Raz and Warrior Melon) are MUCH better!
