If running '5 miles without flinching' is your goal, then you would need to keep aerobic training in your protocol. Each person has their own goals, and if running that many miles is yours, keep cardio in your protocol. However, if someone is looking to change their body composition, you will find that omitting cardio from their regimen will yield better results.

And im not trying to bash you, but I think this is terrible advice. If a client of mine asked me for a training protocol and I told them ' just do what you feel works best for your body and it'll all workout in the end' I wouldn't have a job for very long
For the best exercise prescription, one must be knowledgable in the best ways to give his or her clients the best results.
