Reproduction of a DA thread using information from a couple guys that worked it all out over on bb.com:


So, I decided to make a thread to show price comparison because it was already done before. So, I will try and adopt the help of a couple of quoted posters' information because I myself am not big into bulks for a LOT of reasons, plus some have turned up to be rather shady.

But let's offer this for these products because I often get the "too expensive" comment and I am NOT one to agree with this at all about the MAN line for what you get (obviously).

- I don't think I need to say much about how good a deal Body Octane is. It should be obvious by looking at the numbers. This product is pretty much as good a deal as you are going to find as a consumer IMO. It would most likely cost you more to try and put this formula together yourself instead of buying the product.

This does not even include the flavor system or some of the other ingredients. This is the only supplement I have ever seen that is cheaper to buy from a store than to make it yourself. How MAN is making money off this I have no idea. They also don;t hide behind a proprietary blend, they list exactly what you get and I like that quite a bit. Also, the ingredient profile can't be beat, there are no fillers and everything has benefit.

Too bad the body octane contains articial flavourings and sucralose. Did you read the new study on the colourings(all them E numbers here in europe) causing ADD to worsen etc...

I only have it in icelandic, but I´m sure you can google it up, these were the chemicals researched :tartrasín (E 102), quinoline yellow (E104),
sunset yellow FCF (E 110), asórúbín (E 122),
ponceau 4R (E 124) og allúra red( E 129).
,sodiumbensonat (E 211).

It was done by the university of southampton england, for the Food Standard Agency and published in Lancet.

Completely moot point from that study.

First it was a combination of artificial colors and the commonly-used preservative sodium benzoate OF WHICH THE MAN PRODUCTS LISTED IN THIS THREAD DO NOT USE. Body Octane is completely "uncolored!!!"

On top of this - the groups were children subjected to hyperactivity already and the "additives" group itself was split into two batches.

Some children were given "Mix A," a drink which contained artificial colourings typically found in a couple of 56-gramme (two-ounce) bags of sweets.

Others were given "Mix B" which had a higher level of colourings, equivalent (in the dosage for the eight-year-olds) to consuming the additives in four such bags of sweets.

Both mixes had the same amount of sodium benzoate.

Before the six-week trial began, the researchers asked parents and teachers to assess the child for overactive, impulsive and inattentive behaviour -- the hallmarks of hyperactivity.


Do you see why this doesn't apply?

L Carnitine L-Tartrate is around half the price of ALCAR, last check, but I would agree that it is quite worth it to get the MAN products...both from a price perspective and to reward the innovation.

why can't testing be done on actual athletes or weightlifters, and NOT on an Untrained college athlete (<does this exist), child, or whatever else they come up with

That was merely the study keyser was referencing, not anything on the ingredients of BO/Clout as a complete FYI.
