But I would think insulin to be the main factor in fat storage on a caloric surplus. A reasonable amount of low GI carbs instead of so much fat would probably improve your performance significantly.

hmm lets see. so if I go with a goal of 6lbs for the 15 days, thats roughly a 1400 cal a day surplus. so if I shoot for 4000 cal workout days, 3000 cal non, I think I can do the 20% in carbs reasonably well. beans, quinoa, wild rice, etc.

Hence the reason for the 70:30 ratio, and it once your body enjoys turning protein into glucose, it will start breaking down muscle for shits and giggles.
